Chapter Bulletin

  • August Newsletter

    Hello all and happy August!

Our chapter has experienced significant growth over the last six months, and we would like to ensure that our activities remain both relevant and useful to the community. To that end we have prepared a short survey that should take less than 5 minutes to complete, at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSduoeaa_aq1HfVdDkMHH7HGVumDNUtUJt-i8GdxSDl9DYtmYA/viewform?usp=header.

    Priority asks

    • Fill out the survey!
    • We are actively searching for mutual aid and community/social events to help fill out our activities calendar – especially in Port Townsend. Let us know if you think something would be good to add!
    • We are looking for a couple leaders to step up and help coordinate our assistance with the Washington Health Trust initiative petition.
    • We are looking for volunteers to help with member engagement.

    August general meeting

Our August general meeting will be held on August 27th 6:30 – 8:30. You can join online at https://meet.jit.si/NorOlyDSAGeneralMeetings.

We will be discussing local issues, considering making a change to our asynchronous communications platform, discussing our electoral plans for 2027 (city council races and the Washington Health Trust Initiative), and discussing how we can better onboard new members.

    Connection options

We’d like to remind folks that we do the majority of chapter discussion outside of meetings on Signal. We have a public signal open to anyone that requests access, and a private signal that is open to all members in good standing. If you want to be more involved, the signal is the easiest way to connect with your fellow members. If you’re interested in joining the signal, send us an email at norolydsa@gmail.com and we’ll provide you with the join link. Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with signal – we can help you get it set up. Additionally as we consider alternate programs for asynchronous communications we have set up a discord server and a keybase as temporary unofficial platforms. If you wish to join either of these contact us and we’ll send you a join link.
